Feeling Blue

"Art is a completed pass. You don't just throw it out into the world—
someone has to catch it."
James Turrell, artist

I thought this photograph illustrated Turrell's  quote.
I throw my art into cyberspace, hoping someone will complete the pass.
If they do, then we have both received something.

This broken hockey net was blue and felt blue. It's amazing how an inanimate object can convey such sadness.

If you have enjoyed my art, please share my blog link on your facebook page.
It lets me know that I have "completed a pass."
THANKS!

Walking Around My Childhood

I have lived in this area my whole life.
I roam the sidewalks reminiscing about my childhood—
revisiting the  joy in an autumn leaf, a tiny acorn, the watercolor bark of
a sycamore, and the challenge of a hopscotch board (I was quite good back in my day)
Sometimes the joy of a balloon would slip through my fingers, forever lost,
but I always knew I could seek comfort at home.
Some people gamble seeking wealth, but my riches are right here.

In All Its Glory

I love the beauty and tenacity of the morning glory.
It greets me each day with its royal blossoms, but soon will eat my house.

Strong Impressions

Cement is so vulnerable when wet.
It captures the subtlety of humor, the gait of a pigeon,
or the whisper of  freshly fallen leaves.

(Can you imagine a pigeon in cement shoes?)

Mother Nature in all her Glory

Gifts discovered just beyond my doorstep.

Broken, but still beautiful.

Potential lives at my feet.

A life lived at my feet.
