Falling
The leaf on the sidewalk is a suburban cliché, yet as I walk,
it is what I am offered. I decided to embrace the cliché, but go one step beyond,
exploring juxtapositions and life in the shadows.
Suddenly, the leaves started to take on their own personalities.

Just Under the Wire
War of the Worlds? At the corner of Herricks and Jericho appeared this hydraulic-legged alien about to eat the local Dunkin Donuts. Burlap-draped traffic lights formed the inner mass of this ominous creature. Defenseless, I just stood and...snapped a picture of course!

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Mailbox
Modern art or power wash gone awry?
Local Resident Casualty of a Hit and Run "Monkey" as he was known to the locals, was a favorite of the neighborhood children. He lived in a yellow barrel on Wilson Boulevard and is survived by 11 siblings. They were a tight knit family, often seen together, arm in arm. He will be missed.

Suburbia Prepares for Tricks and Treats
Love this guy. He greets me each morning.
I am sure this is a lovely decoration once inflated, but now it looks like it should have a chalk outline.
Gotta love the juxtaposition here.
AHHH! It's a giant lawn monster—half grass, half man! Run before he injects you with pesticides!
Hey, lady with the water jug— look behind you—quick!
Lovely! Good clean fun for the kids!

My Journey Around a New Block
I haven't had much time to do my weekly walks lately—
lots of activity in this household—but I did get some time to go walking one
weekend out on Long Island. I thought I would go off the grid
and share with you what I found walking the
blocks of Shelter Island and Greenport. A bit different than home.
